The Fort Madison Area Arts Association started in 1980 with a small group of like-minded artists that wanted to create work together and have a place to display it. They pooled their money to rent a 2nd floor commercial space and pay for a phone. Over the years they added in classes for youth and adults and continued to grow. They moved several times, most recently from the Depot after the 2008 flood to the present Avenue G location. In 2022 we were gifted the building and now own our own permanent space. Our Art Association is stronger with Members like you as we grow our Art Center for the future.
